CG artist/Software Junior Developer – Solving Your Creative Challenges

About

This is a raw, honest description of who I am.

I live in Aarhus, Denmark, and ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by anatomy and robots…the way the human body is built and how it moves. I loved drawing it, imagining how the geometry changes with the smallest shifts. This lead me to doing a year in industrial design.

But I quickly realized that drawing on paper couldn’t capture all the angles or the movement, so I started studying 3D, which lead me to The Animation Workshop in Viborg, while and after I studied, I had the opportunity to also work in 3D. Those experiences opened my eyes to a faster, more efficient way of achieving the same results—and I realized I could improve my process even further by coding. So, I started learning how to code.

It took me a long time to question why I was making these shifts, and honestly, I’m still not entirely sure. I just know that when I design and code, I feel like a little inventor in my creative bubble. I hear people say the world is beautiful, but what I see is the potential for beauty in the things that are flawed.

For me, the real beauty lies in the messy, imperfect systems that need fixing. I’m happiest when I’m working to solve them, because in solving those systems, I see a kind of beauty that others might overlook. That’s where I feel most at home, and where I know I could possibly make the biggest impact.

Experience and studies

01/09/2024

Student at React/
Javascript at ReDi school Aarhus

9/2023-8/2024

Mothworks

I worked on the game project “And then I met you” as a CG generalist.

I did sculpting, retopology, procedural texturing tests in Houdini, 2D concepts, illustrations and collaborated in the pitching process.

3/2024-6/2024

ReDi School
“Intro to Javascript” course

I studied the basic principles of raw Javascript, HTML and CSS, and made a project in a team of two that lasted 2 months.

11/2022 – 04/2023

Late Love Production

VR On-boarding of clients and testing for the historical game/experience “Three Kings”.

11/2022-01/2023

Midtjysk 3D Service

3D artist for Three Kings.

I modeled, retopologized and textured characters. The criteria was low-polycount, and points that need to be spread as evenly as possible because of a particle system dependency.

01/2022 – 09/2022

Esthesis

Art Director & 3D Artist
VR Project in collaboration with Phenomenal Viborg.
I worked on the concept and pitch together with my producer Hannibal Glaser, I sculpted, retopologized, textured and implemented in Unity, and finally I worked on the look-development.

08/2020 – 01/2022

Self-Employed at “Elena Tritean Alexandra”

3D Art and traditional oil paintings.

I had clients with various requests, from traditional oil paintings for books, to 3D work, such as the livingroom.

Recommendations

I have had the privilege of working with Elena on several projects over the years, both with her as a CG artist, and as collaborators on an immersive XR project, Esthesis, which Elena both directed and co-produced with me, Phenomenal and The Animation Workshop’s R&D Department.

Elena is one of the most driven young artists that I know, something that isn’t said lightly, given the exceptional mass of international talent frequenting The Animation Workshop every year.

In the time I’ve known her, she has always presented an admirable discipline and work ethic, taking pride in all of the work that she does, and it really shows. You can truly feel the results of countless hours of hard work, grasping human anatomy and light, when studying Elena’s work, both in 2D and 3D.

Beyond her artistic abilities, Elena stands out to me as a kind, curious, and responsible individual. She is a true team player, consistently maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude. I have no doubt that her future employer will come to appreciate these qualities just as much as I have.

I am pleased to provide this letter of recommendation for Elena Tritean for you to review.

My name is Pat Imrie, an Asset Lead & Supervisor with over 16 years of experience working and teaching within the CG industry. During this time, I have met and taught hundreds of young artists preparing themselves to join the competitive and demanding creative industry.

Meeting her during my time teaching at The Animation Workshop in Denmark, Elena demonstrated a passionate yet humbled drive towards her work and studies. An approachable and personable artist, we shared an admiration for the more macabre side of conceptual art and design.

Additionally, Elena yearns to understand the complexities and logistics of her art and how that might impact the world around her. With a varied pool of interests, I can imagine there is little that Elena could not apply her skills to, nor a team where she would not be a great asset.

Her dedication to her craft, notwithstanding, she is a kind-hearted, thoughtful and personable individual, one who is respected by her peers and fellow students. I would be honoured to work alongside her.
